Benefits: Loosens and relaxes neck muscles. Stretches the lateral(side) muscles of the neck. Helps relieve tension in the shoulders.
METHOD: Sit comfortably in a straight backed chair with feet on the floor. Grasp the sides of the chair for stability. Keep your shoulders down and relaxed. Slowly drop your right ear toward your right shoulder.Don't worry about touching your shoulder. Hold comfortably for 10-15 seconds enjoying a gentle stretch. Return your head to center and repeat on the left side. Repeat 3 to 5 times on each side.
Tip: For more of a stretch, hold the seat of the chair. Try to gradually increase the hold to 20-30 seconds.
