Meditation Essentials: Walk the Zen Way

The following meditation is based on kinhin, a Zen walking meditation that encourages mental focus.

Find a space where you can comfortably take about thirty steps in a circle. Step forward about six inches with your right foot and inhale. As you exhale, step forward with your left foot. Focus your attention on every movement and sensation. Continue walking mindfully until you complete the circle. Complete three circles, each time walking more slowly.
