Meditation Essentials: Practice Zen Sitting
Zazen (seated meditation) will help you to achieve postural and mental balance. Sit on the front edge of a firm cushion. Bend your left knee, resting your left heel near your pelvic bone; bend your right knee so that your right calf lies in front of the left. Visualize a silver thread gently pulling you upward from the top of your head. Feel your spine lengthening and your body posture achieving perfect poise. Breathe deeply and empty your mind of all thoughts. Remain in this position for five minutes.
