Meditation Essentials: Release Your Fears

Think of one of your deepest fears. Perhaps it is the fear of being alone, of losing someone close to you, or of not achieving the life you've imagined. Sit quietly and acknowledge this fear---do not dwell on it, just acknowledge its existence. Now, imagine the fear embodied as a bird. Close your eyes and visualize setting this bird free, releasing it into the hands of fate. In doing this, you accept that you cannot control the future and that your fears have no place in this present moment.
