People who seek enlightenment often turn to the teachings of Ancient Masters, believing that they were the only ones to teach the true Dharma.
The stories of the accomplishments of these ancient Masters are easy to tell. These people are no longer alive so, their mastery cannot be observed.
The written word is easier to follow, when you do not know the faults of the author and do not have to look them in the face.
