Dr. Crew's NLP Lessons #13

SELF-TALK

In NLP, we become completely aware of our stream of consciousness and the statements we make to ourselves by our self-talk. When our self-talk is negative and punitive, we are setting this into motion as well as limiting ourselves and our abilities.

We can change this self-talk. We can do two things: We can challenge these statements we have about ourselves and the way we see the world by being contrary in our responses to these inner thoughts. By "catching" this pattern, we can truly change these thoughts.

The other thing we can do is to set other thoughts into motion by creating new statements and watch how doing this changes the way we see ourselves and the way we see the world and how we relate to others.
