The word Buddha comes from the Sanskrit root Budh, which means "to awaken."
In the Pali Canons of Buddhism it is recorded that there were twenty-eight Buddhas or enlightened beings who existed prior to Siddhartha Guatama.
Twenty-eight before, how many after?
