DAD'S DEATH this morning

My Father died this morning just after 2am at Mather Hospital. I just received the call from the RN on his unit. We were expecting his death soon after he wanted his medications turned off other than his pain meds.

I thank all of you for your kindness, support and love you have shown me. I will blog all of the information regarding his wake and funeral services later on today.

Hi Crew, I recieved your voice mail. Sorry to hear about your Dad's passing. I know this is a difficult time for you and your family. Please be comforted that your father is with Chirst and everything about him is renewed, young and beautiful again, with a renewed mind, a renewed spirit and purpose, free of the cares of this world. He is in the arms of Christ and has entered into his joy with no more suffering and pain. Christ said "Behold, I make all things as new." He is the Good and gentle Shepherd, The Prince of Peace.

One of the most comforting things I remember from scripture the old testament, a quote from pslams. I believe the original context was for life's troubles and heaviness regarding depression but I, also in my heart, aquaint it with grieving a loved one. "Away they went with bitter weeping walking toward the fields to be plowed with heavy bags of seed on their backs. But they came back singing with a bountiful harvest. For they who sow in tears shall reape in laughter, for they who sow it tears shall sing."

Please know that you have touched many lives, especially my own and for me, you have made a big time difference with your gifts and abaillities for doctoring and teaching. You are loved very much. Thanks for helping to bring peace, resolutiion and healing to my life. Those are true Christ like attributes. God's peace to you and your family. You are in my prayers. I am very proud of you and very greatful for having you in my life.

love your friend and patient,
John R.

Dear Dr. Crew,
I am so sorry for your loss and the pain you and your family had to endure through this process. I do know from your writings that you found some peace in the words that your father spoke, that you wanted to hear for so long. Keep those wonderful memories in a safe place. You will need them to heal. Again, sorry for loss.

Thank You so very much, Elyssa. Much healing as taken place over the past six weeks. Losing a parent is a situation that all of us can certainly relate to.
