The Silent Sodium
People may exceed their daily needs of sodium due to the high consumption of processed and canned foods.
Over consumption of sodium can lead to high blood pressure in some individuals, thus raising their risk for heart disease.
It is recommended that a healthy adult consume no more than 2,300 mg of sodium a day.
This can be met and managed by replacing the processed and canned foods with fresh cooked foods with minimal added salt.
