Vacation Update/Summary

We had a wonderful two and a half weeks on vacation in Arizona and New Mexico.
We stayed at our time share in Sedona for a week to begin the vacation. Sedona always delivers rest, beauty, and rejuvenation. We hiked a few times into the red rocks and enjoyed the pool at the resort. We certainly enjoyed the food in Sedona, too. We were out to dinner each night we were there. Sedona has such a fantastic selection of excellent restaurants so it was fun to choose one each day! The weather was great, not a drop of rain for the whole week. We love Sedona so much we decided to buy another week there at the Arroyo Roble Resort.

We then headed back to Phoenix to catch a flight for Albuquerque. It was a quick flight and we got our rental car and headed north for an hour or so to Santa Fe. We had never been to Santa Fe before so we were excited as we had heard so many wonderful stories of the city. We were not disappointed. Santa Fe is a warm and enchanting city. As in Sedona, the days were warm and the nights very cool as this is high desert country. We headed up to Taos, NM and stayed in a ski resort up at Taos Ski Valley. We were able to get a one bedroom condo for $85. a night! (It's off-season at the ski lodge.) It was truly beautiful there. Again, warm during the day and at night it got into the mid 20's! We rode the chair lift up onto the mountain. It was breathtaking up there at 13,200 feet above sea level. A bit scary. I will never forget the experience. There were hardly any other people around overnight so it was really secluded and peaceful.

We then headed back down to Santa Fe and stayed in a hotel right on the Plaza (The Eldorado). We found Santa Fe as wonderful as Sedona. It is a southwestern city full of culture and art. As in Sedona, Santa Fe has amazing restaurants and it is wonderful to walk around the city's streets.

Again, not a drop of rain all week.

On the plane on the way back from Albuquerque to Islip we ran into John Hein from the Howard Stern show! He was really cool and was fun to chat with at the airport and on the plane. As a devoted follower of Howard this was a great experience for me!

Now, it's back to work on Monday. However, I am refreshed and rejuvenated!
