Jacob was seen by a doctor today and Mike and I were prepared to hear the worst. We had decided to let him go if the doctor thought that he would not recover. Jake had blood work completed and fluid taken out of his stomach. He had severe edema and water around his heart. He was found to also have a heart murmur.
Jake was sent home!!! The doctor gave him a shot of antibiotic as well as Lasix to get rid of the fluid buildup all over his body and surrounding his heart. He is resting now as I write this entry. At this point, he is still in very critical condition and over the next 48 hours we will know whether or not he will survive. He will continue on Lasix if he pulls through.
Thanks to all who have voiced their concern for him. I will continue to update his condition here on the blog. He is such a brave boy and quite a fighter.
