Subconscious Mind Power Secret #1:
Your brain is
incredibly complex, incredibly powerful, and the
subconscious part of the brain is the most powerful
part of all.


There are more than 100 BILLION neurons in the human brain. In
your brain, somewhere between 10 billion and 400 billion
transactions or chemical reactions take place at any given moment.
Your brain is so complex, neuroscientists say that the entire
Internet—hundreds of millions of web pages— compares to
what’s going on in your brain in an area of the size of a quarter.
Bill Gates said that the brain is so complex that we will never see
in our lifetimes a man-made computer that comes even close to the
human brain.


We also learned recently about the concept of brain
plasticity, which means we have the potential to learn anything and
form new neuron connections at any age, and the potential number
of new connections is so large that it’s almost impossible to
calculate.


Now this is probably the most important fact of all when it comes
to achieving goals:
Brain scientists estimate that at least 5/6 (83%) of your brain’s
functions take place on the subconscious level.
Our conscious
thinking is at the very most only 1/6 of our brain power. This
estimate is based on brain scan research where scientists can
actually see what parts of the brain are working. Some experts
believe the subconscious makes up as much as 95-99% of the
brain’s functions.


Whatever the actual percentage, there’s no question that the
subconscious is a lot more powerful, so it will always win over the
conscious mind in the long run. This means that habit, which is
subconscious, is always going to win over willpower,
which is
conscious, and that explains why keeping a New Years resolution
or sticking with a new diet, or staying consistent with a new
exercise program is so difficult to do long term. Willpower can’t
keep you going long term. Whatever is in your subconscious is what drives your habitual, long-term behavior.
