Got a lot on your plate over the next few days? Sleep on it. A good night’s rest helps us remember and carry out upcoming tasks.
According to a small study in the journal Psychological Science, students who slept after thinking about things they had to do were more likely to accomplish them the next day, compared to those who were supposed to carry out the tasks before going to bed.
The researchers believe that during sleep, the brain processes and stores recently learned information, so that we’re able to recall it better when we wake up.
So if you have the choice of getting everything done before going to bed, and waiting until tomorrow to finish your to-dos, you may be better off getting some shut-eye first.
