How can you help keep your kids slim?
Have home-cooked family dinners with them regularly.
The family that eats together stays slim together, according to a study in the Journal of Pediatrics. The catch, of course, is that the meals should be home-cooked, and include plenty of vegetables. That means cooking lunches for the children as well and not relying on sandwiches. Processed food like Tater Tots don’t count. Children of families that regularly have sit-down family meals had lower BMIs, smaller waistlines and less body fat than those who did not eat home-cooked meals together.
