Nirvana and Enlightenment #96

Ushin no Shin, "Mind conscious of itself."

With a conscious mind,
you want the things you want,
the way you want them.

You calculate.
You plan.
You devise a method for obtaining what you desire.

This is ego consciousness.
No matter how much modern society promises you will obtain from this
mindset, you shall never be fulfilled, because the ego is NOT eternal.
It is lost to the bounds of temporary lust and desire.

With mind focused upon mind,
life loses its naturalness and spontaneity.
Without naturalness, the perfection of the universe is hidden,
as desires overrule the unexplained.

With your mind focused upon you,
you can never let go of you.
Holding on to you, you may get what you think you want,
but, you will never find enlightenment.
Enlightenment can not be found in a mind focused upon itself.

Let go.
