BELIEFS OF EXCELLENCE
You can change a negative belief or value by challenging the way you think about an experience. To achieve excellence or success, try out a belief as if it were true. If it works for you, then that positive belief is more likely to remain with you and help you to achieve further excellence.
You are removing any limitations you may have accumulated through memories or previous experience.
Our beliefs can be positive and enabling-or limiting and negative.
Here are some examples of limiting beliefs and statements:
"Failing an exam is painful."
"I can't sing, dance, etc...."
"I'm useless at..."
"I was never any good at..."
"I can't do... as well as ...."
"I'm too fat, skinny, weak, tall, short, old, etc....."
"It is too difficult."
"They won't like me."
"I always make mistakes."
Here are some positive and enabling statements:
"I can do that."
"I'm good at..."
"I achieve my goals."
"I'm learning a new skill."
"I can do that if you will help me."
"Being different is a good thing."
"Let me have a go and see how I do."
Take a good look at which statements you are prone to make.
