Stress and Smartphones

It might be time to establish some healthy boundaries with your phone. A small new study found that the more people checked in on their devices, the more stressed they appeared to be. And it wasn’t the work-related use that was stressing them out. Rather, people became more stressed when using their mobile devices for personal reasons, like keeping up with friends and social networking news.
Another theory is that people with personality issues might be more prone to using their smartphones in this manner. More research needs to be done to sort this out. While it’s great to be so in touch with your friends and the world, don’t let your mobile updates engulf you and distract you from what’s going on around you in the here and now. Take some time to disengage from your digital world and immerse yourself in the people around you.
