Carotenoids

Research shows that chemical compounds known as carotenoids, which give fruit and vegetables their color, can color your skin as well. Research in the journal PLoS ONE found that the more produce people ate, the more sun-kissed their skin looked. Not only that, but volunteers rated those people’s complexions more attractive than those of non-veggie-eating people.
According to researchers, carotenoid-imbued skin can be a sign of reproductive health in the animal kingdom. Instead of practicing your pick-up lines, eat your leafy greens.
