Choose

"Whether you think you can, or think you can't...you're right."

Henry Ford

Wholly Balanced

Because we are multi-faceted beings, we are perpetually involved in many aspects of life in every moment.
Our work in the world is necessary to attend to our physical needs, and our relationships are important for our emotional needs, but when we engage our spirit as well, we can choose the area that will nurture body, mind and soul.
Staying focused in each moment allows us move with the rhythmic flow of the universe and harmonize all aspects of our being into balanced whole.

Preventing Yearly Weight Gain

Stop eating when you’re full. Eating 100 fewer calories a day (about three or four bites of food) is enough to prevent yearly weight gain.
Here’s why you shouldn't strive to be a member of the clean plate club: cutting just 100 calories from your daily diet can prevent annual weight gain. On average, Americans gain 1.8 to 2.0 pounds every year. While that doesn’t sound like much, the modest annual weight gain is the reason why, over the course of a decade, the scale reads 20 pounds heavier.

When there are only a few bites of food left on your plate, it can be tempting to finish it rather than let it go to waste. But if your body doesn’t need the extra calories, you’ll be stockpiling it in the form of body fat. Serve smaller portions instead. If you’re at a restaurant and hate throwing food out, take your leftovers home and eat it the next day as a snack.

IMPECCABLE

IMPECCABILITY OF THE WORD CAN LEAD TO PERSONAL FREEDOM, SUCCESS, AND ABUNDANCE. YOU CAN ATTAIN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN FROM THIS ONE AGREEMENT.
BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD.

Unguarded Thoughts

"Your worst enemy cannot harm you as much as your own unguarded thoughts.”

Buddha

For the vast majority of my life, I took pride in being a fighter–which meant I was always ready for an attack so no one else could hurt me. The irony is that because of this mindset, I frequently hurt myself.
I was too busy guarding myself against other people’s negative intentions to create positive intentions of my own. I was too preoccupied judging and doubting people to connect with them on a meaningful level.
The people and things I fought weren’t the problem; my thoughts and assumptions were.
I find this is true for a lot of people: the things we’re afraid of are nowhere near as damaging as the way we suffocate ourselves in those fears.
Today if you find your thoughts taking on a life of their own–pulling you into a dark place that has nothing to do with what’s actually going on in front of you–take a breath and let them go.
Make a conscious decision to see everything anew instead of tainting your perceptions with worst case scenarios.
The best things in life can only happen if we’re fully open to experiencing and receiving them.

Kindness

Whatever you do, do with kindness.
Whatever you say, say with kindness.
Wherever you go, radiate kindness.

Using Inclines For Cardio Workouts

Head for the hills to rev up your walking or running workout. Get fit faster and stay motivated by varying the scenery and terrain.
Do you follow the same path day in and day out when you go for your walk or run? Look for hills along your route that you can slip into your routine. If it’s too much for you to tackle all at once, start by only going halfway up. Walking or running up inclines boosts the intensity of your workout: it burns more calories and helps build muscle strength and cardiovascular endurance.

Switching between flat surfaces and hills is a form of interval training, a type of workout that involves short bursts of high-intensity exercise in between moderate activity. This kind of exercise, practiced by elite athletes, can supercharge your workout. It can also help keep boredom at bay. If you have joint problems, go easy on the downhill; slow down your pace and shorten your stride.
